Dominic Gruenewald

During his time At ACA Dominic has performed the roles of He in GOD IS A DJ (dir. Claudia Osborne, NIDA), Stephen in DECADENCE(dir. Maeliosa Stafford, ACA, 2018) George in WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (dir. Gael Edwards), Jacques” in AS YOU LIKE IT (dir. Jennifer West), Vershinin in THREE SISTERS (dir. Adam Cook), T.S. Eliot in ECHOES OF ELIOT (dir. Jennifer West) and Richard in ROOTED (dir Johann Walraven).

Prior to his training at ACA, Dominic worked extensively as a performer with immersive theatre company Underground Cinema, occasionally assisting with writing and directorial duties, in venues across Sydney and Melbourne. He also frequently performed in a number of roles in Luna Park’s “Mystery Manor (November 2015-January 2016). He has recently performed as hero character “The Falcon” in the immersive zombie experience “Zedtown: Last Haven” ( dir. Jack Ballhausen, Allianz and ANZ Stadiums, 2017). He has also appeared in two productions for Sydney Fringe “PDA” (2015) playing himself, and Debris (2012) playing the role of “Michael”. Dominic has also appeared in music videos for Jenny Queen’s ‘Let her go’ (Universal Music, 2014) and Hand of Mercy’s “Last Lights” ( Bower films, 2013). In addition to his acting training Dominic holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Ancient History from the University of Sydney. During his time there he performed the following roles with the Sydney University Dramatic Society; Nils Krogstad in A DOLL’S HOUSE (2013), Feste in TWELFTH NIGHT (2012) and Demetrius in TITUS ANDRONICUS, the latter being invited to perform at Festival of Australian Student Theatre as well as the World Shakespeare Festival in Stratford Upon Avon in 2012. He works currently as the host of Sydney’s longest running beer appreciation society “Alestars” at the Taphouse, Darlinghurst.
