2018 Graduate

June Murtagh

Having grown up in the Hawkesbury area, June realised her interest in acting early on within her local youth theatre company, where a simple gold coin donation per week would throw her into the world of scripts, drama games, likeminded people, and the chance to play Tigger in the end of year production of Winne the Pooh. This set her on a pretty clear trajectory, and she began taking workshops with ATYP, Legs on the Wall, and Actors Centre Australia, while completing a Bachelor of Arts and Communications (Media Arts and Production) at UTS. Since being accepted into the full-time program at Actors Centre Australia, June has taken on the role of Nina in The Seagull, dir. Sarah Carradine, Snug the Joiner/Fairy in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, di. Adam Cook, and Catherine in A View from The Bridge dir. Gale Edwards. She has also had the opportunity to showcase her writing within the devised performance, Umbra, where she satirised Donald Trump by turning him into a slam poet. June hopes to continue creating and writing her own work and delve deeper into the world of comedy and political satire within her acting career.
