Robert was born in South Africa, and moved to New Zealand with his family in his late teens. He lived in NZ for 5 years, where he completed high school, and a Bachelors degree in Anthropology at the University of Auckland. He moved to Australia and for the past 8 years has resided in Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. In 2009 Robert attended the Bruce Ornstein Acting Workshop in New York and concluded four months of training. This experience served to fuel his desire to further his craft, and he decided to embark on studying at drama school.
Upon his return to Australia, he applied and was accepted to study at ACA, an experience he feels has been invaluable to his development. Each performance provided more opportunity to develop and grow, and he looks forward to entering the industry at what can only be described as an exciting time.
