2014 Graduate

Michael Wood

Michael was raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, and prior to drama school he enjoyed working with many different ensembles – performing in plays, musicals, fringe festivals, and short films. Particular stage highlights include lead roles as Wayne Hudson in “Popcorn” directed by Derek Doddington, and Jimmy Harper in “Reefer Madness” directed by Paul Johnson. In 2009 Michael gained his Associate Diploma (distinction) in piano performance from Trinity College London, and in 2011 graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, from The University of Canterbury.

In 2011, he moved to Sydney to pursue his acting career, and has absolutely loved his time at the Actor’s Centre Australia. “What are YOU lookin’ at?!?” directed by Adam Cook, and “The Cherry Orchard” directed by Anthony Skuse, have been wonderful highlights for him. Michael is looking forward to work in film, television, and theatre, both in Australia and abroad.
