Clay Crighton

Clay’s love for acting was ignited in their teens with the help of high school teacher Mr Cutler, who wrote plays for the students and opened their eyes to the eclectic possibilities that the industry holds. Fast forward five years to find them pursuing acting through throwing themselves at every audition they could and learning to make a damn good coffee. They are classically trained in violin and continue to pursue other aspects of creativity such as singing, song writing, playing strange instruments, and playwriting.

Prior to ACA their credits include Appropriation by Paul Gilchrist (Fledgling Theatre Co.), Queen Marie in Exit the King (Theatre Exentrique), Intersection: Chrysalis (ATYP/Griffin Theatre Co.), Rausch (NIDA, dir. Elsie Edgerton-Till), Rosalind in As You Like It (Shakespeare in the Gardens/Eaton Gorge Theatre Co.) and Ariel in The Tempest (Shakespeare in the Gardens/Eaton Gorge Theatre Co.)

Within the walls of ACA, Clay has had the pleasure of performing a variety of roles including Agnes in Agnes of God (dir. Kim Hardwick), Hannah in Arcadia (dir. Adam Cook) Hamlet in Hamlet (dir. Anthony Skuse), Dr Rank in A Doll’s House (dir. Francesca Savige), Dan/Colleague in A Mouth Full of Birds (dir. Lucy Burke), Richard in Richard III (dir. Damien Ryan), Cooley in Don’s Party (dir. Jonathan Mill), and Rosie in Things I Know To Be True (dir. Troy Harrison).
