John Panayiotis Tsakiris is a Sydney-based actor, writer, theatre-maker and musician. He’s performed musical theatre roles such as Clyde Barrow in Bonnie & Clyde (dir. Joseph Restubog), Calvin Berger in Calvin Berger (dir. Ashley Roberts) and Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening (dir. Jacqui Orme) before commencing his formal training at ACA, during the course of which he played roles such as Creon in Antigone, John Proctor in The Crucible, Vershinin in The Three Sisters, Juror 3 in Twelve Angry Men, Gary in The Business, and Earl Rivers / Henry Tudor in King Richard III.
During his final year of drama school, John was also a cast member of Ichor, an original physical-theatre show by the Treachery of Images (TOI) Company.
While training at ACA, John wrote his first full-length original play, an absurdist comedy titled The Partygoers, which premiered earlier this year through the ACA Wheelhouse initiative. John also produced, co-directed, and acted in the production. As he approaches his graduation John is writing his second original play Banana Phone, which he will mount once he graduates.
