SOPHIE HIGHMORE

Canberra born, Sophie grew up singing and trained in numerous dance styles at Legs Dance Performing Arts. Sophie won the CAT award for Best Youth Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her role as Peggy Sawyer in Free Rains production of 42nd Street. She was also nominated for the same award for her role as Mary Poppins in MacKillop College’s Mary Poppins Jr the same year.

In 2019, Sophie completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA before shifting her focus to acting where she could expand her range as an artist. At ACA, Sophie played Catherine in The Great, Olga in Three Sisters, Feste in Twelfth Night, Jane in The Libertine, Jackie in The Boys and various roles in The Laramie Project. During her training, Sophie also choreographed MUSE’s production of Guys and Dolls.

When not acting, Sophie enjoys playing piano, creating and choreographing, and appreciating the different cuisines the world has to offer. Sophie is incredibly grateful for the learning experience that ACA has provided her. It has fuelled her passion for both stage and screen, and she is excited to take her training forward to establish a career in the industry.
