Taia grew up in Ayr, North Queensland, enjoying a small-town, country upbringing. She eagerly took up singing, piano, guitar and ballet lessons and performed in various plays and musicals throughout her schooling, as well as within her hometown theatre company. Taia heavily juggled the arts and academics throughout high school but upon graduation decided to follow her passion and audition for acting school.
During her time at Actors Centre Australia, Taia has explored a range of roles including Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (dir. Claudia Barrie), Amy in Dry Land (dir. Troy Harrison), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (dir. Francesca Savige and Lizzie Schebesta), Aleksey Belyaev in Ivan Turgenev’s A Month In the Country (dir. Maeliosa Stafford), Rachel in Consent (dir. Katy Fitzgerald), Angela in Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (dir. Troy Harrison), Emma in Kid Stakes (dir. Jonathan Mill), and played a variety of roles in Love and Information (dir. Alexander Berlage).
Taia is passionate, driven, and thankful to be performing in an incredible industry that allows her to dive into the depths of human connection and psyche.
