Tedaree (Teddy) Jamieson

Teddy is a proud Lao-Australian woman, born and raised in Sydney. Her passion for performing began in her very first dance class at age five, from which time she began her training in jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary dance, which she continues to this day. Growing up in a biracial household, performing was not highly encouraged as a career but seen rather as a hobby. So naturally, Teddy was a part of every high school production she could get involved in, featuring in roles such as Dulcie in Summer of the Aliens, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as Winnie in Happy Days. It took all of high school and even a semester of a Fashion Degree for Teddy to realise acting was her true calling.

Her roles at ACA have included Roberta in Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (dir. Troy Harrison), Nora in A Doll’s House (dir. Francesca Savige), Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra (dir. Damien Ryan), Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet (dir. Craig Baldwin), Chloe/Jellaby in Arcadia (dir. Adam Cook), Anna in Closer (dir. Samuel Jing) as well as Paula in After Dinner (dir. Johann Walraven). Teddy’s time at ACA has made her appreciate how special her craft is. It has offered her a range of perspectives with which to view the world and its people, something she deeply values and will continue to explore throughout her career.
