ACA: Why did you choose ACA over other acting schools?

Caspar: Before I seriously considered pursuing a career as an actor, a friend recommended ACA as a place to watch talented young performers showcase their skills. After watching a show for the first time, I was completely inspired to learn how to perform like those actors.

ACA: What were you doing before studying acting at ACA? What inspired you to study acting?

Caspar: I was born and raised in Sydney, Lakemba. Before ACA, I completed my bachelor’s degree at UNSW, majoring in Theatre Studies and Creative Writing. I travelled around for a bit and was also considering a music career before ACA, but the desire to be a part of the ACA community prevailed in the end.

ACA: How did your time at ACA shape your career and personal growth?

Caspar: ACA encouraged me to work hard and build a healthy creative skillset. Many of the lessons I have learnt from my days at ACA have stayed with me in my career, which speaks to the standard of training.

ACA: What’s happened since you graduated? Can you share some career highlights or exciting projects?

Caspar: I’ve never been one for tooting my own horn, but this career so far has been unpredictable, frustrating and equally rewarding and wonderful. It’s made me truly appreciate the special moments when I’ve gotten to work with some of my absolute idols, many of whom I grew up watching on film and tele.

ACA: Any advice for someone looking to study acting?

Caspar: Have fun, and remember to embrace the process through learning, not by getting it “right”. Work hard and stay focussed when you need to. Those career habits start at drama school. Find the balance between studying and a healthy social life.

ACA: What would you say to someone considering studying at ACA?

Caspar: ACA is a unique environment which encourages actors to thrive. So, try your best to be open to everything the tutors have to offer. ACA’s encouragement formed the foundations for a resilient and driven mindset when I entered the industry.

ACA: Anything else you’d like to share?

Caspar: To succeed, you should aim to cultivate a holistic and fulfilling life outside of acting. Acting should be a part of your world, not the whole of it.

Thank you, Caspar!
