2025 Graduate

Sylvie Proude

Growing up, Sylvie was always drawn to the performing arts. She started dancing at five, singing at six, and acting when she was seven.  She attended the performing arts high school McDonald College (initially for Musical Theatre) which allowed her to further train her passions. But here, she discovered her true love for acting.

Following her graduation, Sylvie, wanted to finetune her crafts. She continued her dance training and attended The Next Step Performing Arts, earning her a Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance). Gaining expertise in all styles of dance, notably commercial jazz, hip hop and musical theatre. Sylvie was also able to dance in the Wharf4Ward (2022), representing CottonOn. This curriculum also taught her diligence and perseverance, when she suffered an ankle injury at the beginning of the course. Sylvie, however, saw this as an opportunity to work more behind the scenes, helping in both production and assisting. With her dancing abilities secured, Sylvie turned back to her passion of pursuing acting.

Here at Actors Centre Australia, Sylvie has had absolute pleasure of playing characters Jenny in Don’s Party, Sorin (Altered to Tusya) in The Seagull, Gertrude in Hamlet, Helen of Troy in States of Decay, Mrs. Webb in Our Town, Amanda Prynne in Private Lives (NIDA x ACA) and Ann in All My Sons. She is incredibly grateful for the training here at ACA, showing her incredible insight into acting and the type of performer she is—an energetic and centred presence, who portrays entirely engaged, intuitive characters while revealing their emotional complexities.

Sylvie is excited to enter the industry. Accompanied by her dance and singing training, Sylvie is a hard-working actor who hopes to make her mark on both the stage and screen and continue her passion to perform.
