Stephanie Pringle

Stephanie Pringle is an award-winning Australian casting director, podcast host and co-founder of Chicken and Chips Casting. She is a trailblazing force in the Australian casting industry, renowned for her disruptive approach that has been pivotal in reshaping the landscape in Australia. With a focus on championing artists and filmmakers through a conscious and inclusive casting process, Stephanie has garnered worldwide recognition for her work across film, television, and high-profile advertising campaigns.

Stephanie began her career in casting in 2007 after working as a producer’s assistant on a feature film. This early exposure ignited her passion for the casting process, leading her to work at various notable casting agencies, including Chameleon and Fountainhead Casting, where she cut her teeth by collaborating with leading commercial directors, including internationals David Fincher, Jean Pierre Jeunet, and Bobby Farrelly, as well as acclaimed Australian commercial directors such as David Deneen, Paul Middleditch, and Rey Carlson.

Stephanie’s commitment to her career has earned her numerous accolades, most notably making history as the first casting director (alongside Alison Fowler) to win B&T’s 30 Under 30 Award in 2018. This was followed by B&T’s Best of the Best Casting Directors title in 2021 and her work on Cricket Australia’s What We’re Made Of campaign garnered the B&T Diversity Award in 2020. Stephanie’s work continues to be celebrated within the industry, with multiple nominations from the Casting Guild of Australia (CGA) highlighting her significant contribution and IF Magazine naming her a Rising Talent in Casting in 2024.

Stephanie’s recent projects showcase the breadth of her talent, including feature films like Welcome Back to my Channel (World Premiere at SXSW Sydney 2025), A Savage Christmas (2024 AACTA Nominated) and Birdeater, (2025 AACTA Best Indie Film Award Winner) and Ellie and Abbie (and Ellie’s Dead Aunt), which also took out the 2020 AACTA Award for Best Indie Film. Stephanie has also cast television series such as Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge, Channel 9’s MetroSexual, and ABC’s Logie Nominated Gardening Australia Jnr.

Beyond her day-to-day work in casting, Stephanie is actively involved in the industry as a whole, speaking on countless industry panels, teaching at AFTRS, ACA, AMAW and AIPA and has previously served on the Executive, AI and Inclusion Committees of the Casting Guild of Australia. She is an inaugural member of Sydney Film Festival’s Director’s Lab.

In 2021, Stephanie, alongside Chicken and Chips Casting co-founder Alison Fowler, launched The Sauce, a podcast dubbed as the ‘backstage pass to the entertainment industry’.
