Charles is a bilingual Korean-Australian actor, singer, and dancer. His love for performance began at the age of fourteen when an opportunity to perform in a sketch through his church was presented to him. A previously shy and insecure boy felt a spark in his heart and was soon addicted.
This led him to dance, where he became a street hip-hop dancer. His extensive knowledge of Martial Arts (Taekwondo, Judo, Nun-Chucks and Jiu-Jitsu) allowed him to pick up choreography quickly and there he found his second passion.
Due to his growing love for acting, Charles sought out various opportunities to be involved in the industry, participating in feature films like Wolverine, Gods of Egypt and Pacific Rim: Uprising. He was cast as an actor in Madam Butterfly directed by Alex Olle (prod. Opera Australia) and Sander in Camp Rock produced by CMS Musical Theatre.
During his time at ACA, he was cast as Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (dir. Jonathan Mill), Lee in True West by Sam Shepard (dir. Kim Hardwick) and Sergeant Kite in The Recruiting Officer by George Farquhar (dir. Shaun Rennie & Richard Carroll), Firs in The Cherry Orchard (dir. Adam Cook), George in Savages by Patricia Cornelius (dir. Annabelle Kablean), Roy in The Season at Sarsaparilla by Patrick White (dir. Jonathan Mill), and Brian/Roy in Road by Jim Cartwright (dir. John O’Hare).
Charles finds performing highly therapeutic and has an endless appetite to tackle more projects. He is an ambitious and ever-developing artist who is always eager to acquire new knowledge and skills.
