2023 Graduate

JOSH MERTEN

Josh was born in Sydney, then grew up in South-East Asia for most of his school years. It was here that he developed an interest in all kinds of people, and with that came a love for performance, writing and directing. He is now based in Sydney’s Inner West and is excited to bring a rich perspective on the Australian experience to his work.

In addition to his acting, Josh is a singer and pianist. He is also a published author, with his first collection of poetry, Harnett Lane, published this year with Ginninderra Press.

At ACA, Josh played Orestes in Electra, King Charles II in The Libertine, Andrey in Three Sisters, Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night, Hermes and Val in The Great and multiple roles in The Laramie Project.

He also co-directed two student shows at ACA with the Writers Group, No Feedback Please and Paper Cuts, both with Reuben Solomon.
