2025 Graduate

Sage Chihiro Kikui

Sage was born and raised in Sydney and from an early age had a natural pull toward movement, performance, and self-expression. At just four years old, she began ballet, training with discipline and performing in eisteddfods as a soloist until the age of twelve. Her love for the arts only deepened through high school, where she joined top contemporary and jazz eisteddfod teams while completing her Royal Academy of Dance training from Pre-Primary through to Advanced 2.

In her senior years, Sage discovered drama as an elective, and it quickly became a new creative outlet. In Year 12, her individual performance was selected for OnSTAGE, and although the pandemic prevented her from performing, the experience confirmed her passion for acting and opened the door to a new artistic path.

After graduating, she joined the Foundation Program at Actors Centre Australia, where she was introduced to a wide range of acting techniques. Inspired to take her training further, Sage auditioned for both Screenwise and ACA, was accepted into both, and ultimately chose the three-year degree program at ACA.

While at ACA, she embraced a variety of roles, including Bubba Ryan in Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, Anna in Ivanov, Seyton in Macbeth, Emily Webb in Our Town, and Lady Nijo/Win in Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls. She also contributed to the ACA Writers Group, performing in two productions created by emerging writers across the three cohorts.

In her final months at ACA, Sage expanded into screen work, appearing in a music video produced through NIDA’s collaboration with Triple J, as well as featuring in two short films directed by AFTRS graduates.

Driven by curiosity and movement, never one to sit still, Sage thrives on momentum. She’s always pursuing new creative challenges that inspire growth and passion in her work. She is looking forward to the next chapter exploring new projects that sparks her imagination.
