Olivia Hall-Smith

Olivia grew up in Brisbane, and has been involved with the theatre from a young age, making her stage debut in 2006 in which she featured as a troll in a box. Training as a dancer since she was little, Olivia found her passion for the stage when she started drama classes with the Ipswich Little Theatre Company, and has since trained with Hayden Spencer & Carita Farrar, Queensland Theatre Company, Harvest Rain Theatre Company, La Boite Theatre Company, and many more, before starting her Bachelor degree at the Actor’s Centre Australia.

In 2015 Olivia became involved with UNSW’s Underground Productions, leading in productions of Mark O’Rowe’s Terminus (2016), Benedict Braxton Smith’s METALHEAD (2015) and Lucy Kirkwood’s NSFW (2016). In 2015 she played the role of Danika in Sunnytown, a co-production between Shot in the Dark Productions and La Boite Indie, and since being at ACA has played the role of Electra in The Orestia, (dir. Gale Edwards), Viola in Twelfth Night (dir. Adam Cook) and Miss Prue in Love for Love (dir. Anthony Skuse). She has appeared in many short films, a few ads, and while living in Brisbane was also an actor, writer and director for Brisbane based theatre company The Miscreants & a surreal comedy group that has been wreaking havoc since 2015. Olivia is also a singer, and is passionate about and making her own work. She is looking forward to getting back into the industry post-ACA, creating, supporting, and simply being a part of Australia’s growing arts industry.
