Anna Summerhayes

Growing up in the coastal town of Kiama, Anna’s introduction to the stage was as a dancer, competing at a national level. She then became involved in community theatre before making the move to Sydney to complete her Bachelor of Performing Arts at ACA. Anna has also trained at ITS (Improv Theatre Sydney) where she formed multiple improv troupes who performed in various venues around Sydney, including the Sydney Fringe Festival. She is particularly fond of sketch comedy and completed a sketch writing course at ITS, with one of her sketches ‘Fair Game’ being produced for the ITS Annual Comedy Festival.

During her time at ACA, Anna has performed the following roles: Richard III in Richard III (dir. Adam Cook), Marcia in The Seagull (dir. Camilla Ah Kin), Catherine in Proof (dir. Kim Hardwick), Melinda/Costar Pearmain in The Recruiting Officer (dir. Shaun Rennie), Mrs. Tulliver in The Mill on the Floss (dir. Maeliosa Stafford), Nola Boyle in The Season at Sarsaparilla (dir. Jonathan Mill). Anna also made her directorial debut with a production of Caryl Churchill’s Hot Fudge. Anna is passionate about creating her own work and after many years of performing, devising, writing, laughing and crying, she feels ready to enter an industry that has it all!
